Everything was better than we excepted, the house was great, the area was Quiet and peaceful. Our Grandkids especially enjoyed the community pool and the fishing from the pier.<br/>we all enjoyed sitting on the back deck and enjoying the peace and quiet.<br/>We were there for the 4th of July weekend, The community fireworks display was very good for such a small community, thank you for that, the Grandkids loved it!

What a beautiful retreat surrounded by woods on all sides! Natural light & views of nature fill every room in this home. Spacious & even larger than pics show, we had plenty of room for 3 adults & 4 kids & our family pets too. The bonus spaces upstairs & down were a pleasant surprise upon arrival. There is a king & a queen bed in the bonus space upstairs with plenty of room to spread out. Also my youngest loved the extra bunk/play space in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen is sufficient but lacking in cookware enough for a large family such as ours. Bring your own large pots if you are bringing a crowd. We loved the surround sound speaker system to play music throughout that downstairs living spaces & out on the deck too. The community pool was the perfect way to cool off after long hikes in the state park. We never saw the general store actually open. Plan your meals & get your groceries on the way to the cabin as the nearest grocery stores are 30+ minutes away. There is a Dollar General about 5 miles from the park entrance for last minute things. Our family has enjoyed many trips to the area and the Preserve is by far the nicest & most spacious rental we have found. It&#x2019;s about a 20 min drive from the nature center at the park & all the beauty the park has to offer. It was the perfect place for a wonderful family trip!

We recently met here at the Preserve for a couple of days of shooting at Dead Zero Shooting Park. While the location was a little farther from the shooting park that we realized, the accommodations was well worth the drive. The property management team is great to work with. We intend to go back again next year.
Stayed 2 days in September, 2023
We all enjoyed the peace, solitude, and serenity at this spectacular home.
Stayed 3 days in July, 2023
Dead bugs on floor. The entry was dangerous because of rotten boards on deck. Ad showed a pool. The community pool was locked with a sign that said closed for the winter. It&#x2019;s July. Lights in the dining room were not operational. Called and was told they knew about the problem but did not offer to fix it. Had to dine as a family in almost dark conditions. Very disappointed.
Stayed 3 days in March, 2023
This place was perfect for our family getaway. The joy heard throughout the house as the children explored and played was priceless. Surround sound was a nice touch. We loved the location it was a short drive to Fall Creek Falls. Since only starter amount of TP and paper towels, I'd recommend bringing some of that. If you plan on doing laundry, don't forget the detergent, and you'll need charcoal for the grill. Absolutely perfect weekend.
Stayed 5 days in March, 2023
10 family members spent five days enjoying the area. The house and accommodations were wonderful.
Stayed 3 days in July, 2022
This property was so clean and had EVERYTHING you needed to make great memories. The gated community offered so many extras.
Stayed 2 days in June, 2022
Family owns property and a lake nearby so we booked this for the weekend. Very nice property. It was clean and had everything we needed.
Stayed 3 days in May, 2022
Overall, we had a good time. The area seemed to be vacated overall...the general store was only open for a few hours a couple of days per week...the house had a bunch of mousetraps everywhere and lots of mouse droppings. The important things were cleaned (kitchen, bathrooms, linens) but the home still felt like nobody had been there for a while (dead bugs on the carpets, needed to be vacuumed). The confirmation paperwork had lots of contradicting information but I always got quick responses when I texted for clarification, which was nice. The lighting was horrible, the furniture was very worn. I probably wouldn&#x2019;t rent again, but my family and I had a good time together.
Stayed 4 days in April, 2022
There were 4 adults and 2 children (3 and 1) in our party. There was enough room for twice that many! Great decks to relax on. Beds very comfortable. Bedrooms very roomy. I would have liked to have had a chair and or a dresser to large bedroom upstairs, but I like to unpack when I&#x2019;m on vacation. Lovely basement downstairs, but no furniture and I&#x2019;m too old to sit on floor lol. We blocked it off so baby wouldn&#x2019;t tumble down the stairs<br/>This property was very isolated from any stores or restaurants, so be warned. Also it is located on a looonng gravel road, so don&#x2019;t bother washing your car before you get there haha.<br/>We went to the lake at night and star gazed. No moon, no clouds, no city lights, absolutely breath taking. Lisa was so helpful with any questions we had or help we needed.
Stayed 2 days in January, 2022
We were extremely pleased with this cabin. The cabin was beautiful and had every comfort you could need . I would highly recommend this property and the host were so accommodating . We will stay again thank you
Stayed 2 days in November, 2021
Great getaway place. Plan on renting again soon.<br/>Owner went above and beyond. Recommended to my friends.
Stayed 2 days in September, 2021
Great time checking out Long Branch Lakes. The rental was perfect for as a new landowner at LBL to check out the amenities and enjoy some time on the water fishing. The house rental was clean and very comfortable. Very quiet and great place to relax and slow your pace.
Stayed 4 days in June, 2021
We did a family and friends vacation at the Preserve with Highland Rim Retreats in June. There was 10 of us and the house accommodated every one. Not everyone did the same activities while there. Some fished swam and played basketball. We did a camp fire and make smores the kids loved it especially the ones who had never done it before. We played a card game (family time) Or sometimes just sat on the porch relaxing, talking or reading a book. Basically listening to the sound of nature. Some seen deer and a turkey. Recommend renting the house absolutely Would do it again in a heartbeat. Those are the type of memories that you can t make every day. Family and friends are precious don t take them for granted. Thanks for letting us borrow the house It was a great time
Stayed 2 days in May, 2021
Fishing was great and the house was exactly what we needed. Lisa was extremely accommodating. I highly recommend.
Stayed 2 days in December, 2020
We had a wonderful time. Nice cabin. We hiked, grilled out, used the fire pit. It was enjoyed by all.
Stayed 4 days in August, 2020
We had a nice stay here. It is perfect for a getaway if you are not planning on going out much.
Stayed 3 days in August, 2020
The house was beautiful and had the perfect cozy retreat feel. The environment really felt like a get away and immersed us in nature. My kids loved the falls that were so close by, and was a beautiful trail for all you hikers out there.
Stayed 5 days in August, 2020
Loved it felt like we had the lakes to ourselves close to two state parks with beautiful waterfalls

Stayed 4 days in July, 2020
Had a wonderful stay with another family! The kids had a great time! Only 1 complaint.. the cabin does not sit on the lake (assumed so from the picture of the lake with a cabin in the background).
Stayed 4 days in June, 2020
We had a very nice stay at the Preserve. The accommodations were very comfortable. The grounds around the house were a bit unkempt and there were ticks galore so be careful sitting by the fire pit.<br/>Patio chairs would have been a nice touch. but over all the house was fine.
Stayed 4 days in May, 2020
The owners were wonderful to work with. The cabin is very nice and in a great community. There are two beautiful Lakes, fishing, basketball, baseball, tennis, and pools and a general store (these last two were not open due to Covid but would be great once opened.). Also playground for kids. The community is nice and quiet and was a great place to relax. It is a 10-15 minute drive to Fall Creek Falls main nature center so very easy access. We enjoyed our stay.
Stayed 2 days in December, 2019
Lots of potential but needs some TLC and a deep cleaning. Glasses and dishes had to be washed before using (filthy). Cob webs and dust, dead bugs in corners and generally needs a good cleaning with lots of light. Furniture is very worn and showing it&#x2019;s age and lack of maintenance. No instructions on how to use television or streaming services required to watch TV. Internet out an entire evening. Door code did not work on arrival and 4 call backs required on a cold snowy night, after midnight, to get a someone to answer the phone.
Stayed 5 days in July, 2018
We loved the location of the property and the home was in beautiful condition and was quite spacious. We would have appreciated knowing ahead of time what the wi-fi was (we had to look through drawers for a piece of paper that had the code). Also there were bugs on the floor-floor needed to be swept. Other than those matters, wonderful time!
Stayed 2 days in February, 2018
Great boys trip! Fishing was great...couple of 8lb! One of my favorite spots in the Southeast...memories for a LIFETIME!!!
Stayed 4 days in November, 2017
This house was amazing. Plenty of room and in a great location. In the morning you could look out the front windows and see deer walking across the field. We went horseback riding even though it's not on the property, it was still an amazing opportunity and we did it as a family which made it special. The falls are right down the road and they are some of the prettiest views you've ever seen.
Stayed 3 days in October, 2017
We love escaping to Highland Rim retreats for our family vacation! It's so peaceful, away from the world and really lets you connect. We love the fishing & kayaking on the lakes at Highland Rim. The Preserve is just right for our family of 10 to comfortably relax and have room to move.
Stayed 2 days in July, 2017
How fortunate we were to find a gorgeous, private getaway where our family could celebrate together this summer! We live in Georgia and my parents live in Kentucky. Fall Creek Falls was a great place to connect, recharge and simply enjoy being together! We made special memories fishing and kayaking at the lake and some of our more competitive family members challenged each other on the basketball and tennis courts. The Preserve well exceeded our high standards for vacation rentals and we would totally recommend it to anyone wanting a place to get away for a couple of days.
Stayed 4 days in June, 2017
RELAXING AND PEACEFUL RETREAT! Bring everything you will need and gas up the car this getaway it is miles from the nearest grocery and gas. The house was beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to the sound system and enjoying nature. We saw lots of deer and hear lots of other night creatures. The management was prompt and helpful. The downfall was the pool was closed but we rented a kayak and floated on the lake. A great place to de-stress.
Stayed 3 days in May, 2017
website is very misleading and out of date<br/><br/>The house is lovely, but there was NO WATER in the pool, the restaurant/general store was apparently permanently closed, the recreation area was grown up with weeds. The closest food was 30 minutes away. <br/>
Stayed 2 days in November, 2016
We rented this house for a girls' weekend trip and it was perfect! It was better in person than the pictures showed; the house was a great size for 10 people and looked very clean and new. The management team was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions I had about the house. I definitely recommend staying here!
Stayed 6 days in July, 2016
This home was everything it was advertised! Lots of space, well furnished, great layout, clean, and well maintained. The appliances, facilities / amenities were all new and good quality with added touches like the Sonos sound system and accent lighting. The setting is functional, plenty of parking, wooded lot, a nice supply of firewood, and a big outdoor fire pit. The roads are rough and The Preserve is a few miles into the development. There are only a few other houses in the huge complex but the property is well maintained and the main road has streetlights that fit the setting. A short walk to an amazing area where unfortunately nothing is happening...a general store that's closed, giant lake with no boats to rent, an empty pool, abandoned pavilion, horseshoe pits - no shoes - b-ball and tennis available if you bring your own equipment...pretty deserted. Overall we loved it though, just 15 minutes from Falls Creek Falls. Someday this entire place will be incredible...right now it's just the house that fits that description.
Stayed 3 days in July, 2016
We had a very pleasant experience during our stay. The only disappointing aspect of our time at The Preserve was when we visited the common area around the lake, the swimming pool is not being maintained and while using the playground equipment, my 3 year old son, was bitten by a wasp that had nested inside the tire swing.
Stayed 2 days in April, 2016
We took our whole soccer team to Highland Rim Retreats in April 2016 - 25 people total. We rented The Preserve as well as 4 condominiums. Our stay was great. The accommodations are very nice and clean, and it was the perfect getaway for our team, which we used as a bonding experience. Most of our cell phones did not have service, which was perfect too in order to get away from social media and other distractions. However, the internet is also spotty which made it difficult for some of our kids to get their homework done. We used Highland Retreats as our home base and spent time at Fall Creek Falls about 15 minutes away. Overall, a great trip in a great location.
Stayed 4 days in December, 2015
my family hag a great time.
Stayed 2 days in September, 2015
The house was perfect! We had such a wonderful, wonderful time. The only surprise was to find out that the pool was empty and filled with tadpoles. Thankfully the kiddos were content with fishing and kayaking:)
Stayed 2 days in August, 2015
Our group rented The Preserve and 3 of the Trout Hill Condos for 2 nights. Positives: All the condos and the house were very clean. The furniture in all of them was nice, big and comfortable. Plenty of dishes for our large group (8) The woodsy setting for The Preserve was beautiful. The management company was very accommodating in our check in. Here are the not so great things: 1) There is nothing, truly nothing, within a 30 minute or more drive so bring what you need 2) The road is very rough, it needs paving badly. 3) The condos are NOT walking distance from The Preserve-you need a car. 4) The General Store-is not. The food there was ok, however the people running it had just purchased it and it was their first day-so allowances made for that, 5) There is no pool, only a cemented hold in the ground with tadpoles, 6) There is no horseback riding unless you live there-they don't have insurance for guests to ride. The hiking trails -we didn't try --looked a little lonely to us, 7) Internet and cell phone service in the condos was non existent and only sporadic at The Preserve and they have no landlines that we could see. Having no way to contact anyone at night was not smart and 8) There was no air conditioning in one of the condos most of the stay. I must iterate that this is in a very undeveloped area. Don't expect to be in contact with the rest of the world during your stay. We enjoyed our stay overall as we accomplished our retreat time. If they could get some investors who are willing to make this in to an actual retreat, it could be absolutely beautiful. Today, it is certainly not a thriving retreat.
Stayed 6 days in July, 2015
We arrived to a beautiful cabin that had everything we needed. It was surrounded by God's beauty and we were happy to just walk down the road and enjoy breakfast and lunch at the general store. The food was amazing!!! We had a wonderful week in the cabin. Not far from Fall Creek Falls and it was nice to go hike then come back and relax in a spacious cabin! I highly recommend staying here!!!
Stayed 3 days in June, 2015
This house is wonderful with wonderful surprises around every turn. They had even added another queen bed in the bonus room. We especially enjoyed the porch, the kitchen and all the space. We thought there was going to be a gas grill outside but instead found a charcoal one. They had no sponges to use wiping counters and washing dishes but this was a minor inconvenience. Our biggest disappointment was that the pool was closed- something we had not expected in June. A home owner told us that Long Branch Lakes property was in bankruptcy, so management didn't want to open pool until there were new owners. We were glad we got our supplies the first night because this property is quite a distance from any stores, restaurants, etc. We also got a bit lost because GPS on our phones would not get good reception. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. Just wish we had known about the pool ahead of time.
Stayed 7 days in May, 2015
We had a great time in this beautiful cabin with friends and family.
Stayed 5 days in November, 2014
Great location for our extended family vacation with 6 adults and 4 kids ages 5-14. We loved the convenience of the kitchen for preparing our own meals after a day hiking at fall creek falls.
Stayed 2 days in October, 2014
Golfing, hiking, eating, relaxing and watching football games in front of the fire! What a way to spend the weekend.
Stayed 2 days in October, 2014
Overall, fantastic !! Some vacations are wrapped with activities, like amusement parks, go carting, etc...which is great too, this vacation experience is a focus on Family or Romantic time together. The entire Long Branch environment is unique providing a Relaxing place to slow down and recharge your batteries for your Family, Relationships, and to kick butt at your Job. The people are so sweet and focused on your experience being great to ensure you come back.
Stayed 2 days in September, 2014
Perfect house for our weekend getaway with the the whole family. This is our second trip to Long Branch Lake. Plenty of fun for all ages. We love it!
Stayed 4 days in December, 2013
The Preserve is an exceptional, beautiful place to stay. We found everything just as described. Space was ample for the six family members who spent Christmas there. We would have enjoyed a larger TV in the living area, a good can opener, and a little better quality cookware. However, those are minor things, and the good far, far outweighed those inconveniences. We would highly recommend the Preserve to others and would love to go back for another stay.
Stayed 2 days in October, 2013
The Preserve provided a perfect location for a family weekend. The location was ideal. We were close to home, but once you are inside Long Branch Lakes, you feel like you are a million miles away. The entire resort property was absolutely beautiful. The house itself was even nicer than we imagined. It was beautifully built, very spacious, furnished perfectly, and had nice amenities like tons of fluffy towels, a well equipped kitchen, wood for the fireplace, and nice bedding. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway in middle Tennessee.
Stayed 3 days in August, 2013
Awesome cabin and we had a great wkend
Stayed 3 days in August, 2013
Beautiful home. Nice people all around too !
Stayed 4 days in July, 2013
Was very well handled.....from beginning to end.
Stayed 3 days in July, 2013
My family and I get together for a family vacation every summer and The Preserve was ideal for us. With 4 adults and 3 teenagers, it takes a lot of space to satisfy our needs. The Preserve had sleeping space for all of us. The kitchen was ideal and we loved eating in the dining room. The pool and lake were great - boats with no rental and a beautiful pool feed by a waterfall. We enjoyed our time at The Preserve and would go back. We were well taken care of by the management company.
Stayed 7 days in July, 2013
We had a wonderful week here, and the owners were very helpful when we had a few minor issues crop up. The location was great as some of our family was camping at Fall Creek Falls and we could get together at the park or the house. My kids are already asking to stay here again.
Stayed in August, 2012
We celebrated our dad's 86th birthday and it was a wonderful celebration. Our family was able to join us on one of the days to eat, fish and swim. We had a blast. We had to drag some family members away from fishing to eat.
Stayed , 2012
We were in one of the Condos again and as usual had a great time. It rained the whole time and cold, but we stayed by the fire, playing cards, putting puzzles together and eating. Everything was outstanding as always. Looking forward to the next time.
